Liquid silicone molding (LSR) is a fast growing elastomeric molding operation. We focus on process, tooling, and product technology innovation to offer the most advanced durable products available. Typical applications for this process are often specified for electric connectors, medical devices, seals, and kitchen cookware, plus other similar products where smooth surfaces are desired and conditions requiring demanding applications.
Liquid silicone rubber molding (lsr) involves a thermoset method at room temperature where compounds mixed and pumped into a hot mold. As liquid silicone rubber flows readily into very thin cross sections, tight radii, thick and/or thin features. Tooling surfaces do not have to be highly polished, and draft angles are not required to facilitate removal of the finished component from the tooling. When the cure cycle is complete, the molded silicone can be removed without concern of distortion or tearing as the silicone is fully cured. The (LSR) process is replacing gum base compression molded silicone in many applications to reduce lead time wherever possible – and to facilitate fast design-to-production cycles.
